Trout for breakfast
I have seen this mother otter with its cubs over three years. It has a distinctive nick in its ear. It is early morning, she has caught a large brown trout, and has brought it to the river bank of the Tweed, in Northumberland, to eat it. -
Where's mum?
The young otters like to stay close to mum, and will become agitated, calling loudly until they find her. Taken at Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland. -
Otter with flounder
Often feeding on eels, this one has caught a flounder which lives in the tidal stretches of the river Tweed, in Berwick, Northumberland. -
"Come in, the waters lovely"
Once rare, otters are being regularly seen in the river Tweed as the water quality improves. I feel so lucky being able to watch them feeding, and teaching their youngsters to hunt. They are curious and will often "pose" as I take their Photo. Taken in Berwick upon Tweed, Northumberland.
